With so many islands, choosing the best cycling route in the Philippines can be tough. Our 13-day adventure in the Visayas is the perfect answer. We’ll cycle through four islands, traveling on paved roads, through jungles, highlands, and along beautiful coastlines. Along the way, we’ll stop at cultural sites, natural wonders, and stay at lovely accommodations.
We start in Cebu City and take a boat to Bohol. For the first three days, we’ll explore forests to see tarsiers, visit the Chocolate Hills, and climb the Sierra Bullones highlands. After resting near Anda’s beaches, we’ll find hidden waterfalls, ride along the coast, and visit a Spanish coral stone church. On Day 8, we ferry to Siquijor, known for its natural beauty and mysticism. We’ll stay three nights at a beach resort, exploring coasts, jungles, and villages. From Siquijor, we’ll ferry to Cebu, cycling to Moalboal to swim with sardines. Our final ride takes us through mountains before ending back in Cebu City.
They say “It’s more fun in the Philippines” – we say it’s even more fun on a bike! Join us and see for yourself.

1
Welcome to Cebu, the “Queen City of the South”! We’ll pick you up from Mactan International Airport and take you to our tour hotel. In the evening, we’ll have a meeting and a welcome dinner.
If you arrive early, explore Cebu’s historic sites like churches and a fort. Cebu is the Philippines’ second largest city, known for its busy markets and delicious local food! -
2
In the early morning, we head to the pier to catch a ferry to Bohol Island. Watch Cebu’s cityscape fade into the ocean. After a two-hour ride, we arrive in Tagbilaran and meet our support vehicle, a traditional Filipino ‘jeepney.’ We transfer a short distance for lunch and bike fitting.
Today’s ride is a gentle 30 km through the Visayas countryside. After 12 km, we stop at a Tarsier Sanctuary. With the help of a guide, we’ll look for these tiny creatures in the forest. Sightings are likely but not guaranteed, as they are wild animals.
We continue cycling through rural Bohol, tackling some hills before enjoying a downhill ride to the beautiful Loboc River. At our riverside resort, you can go kayaking, get a massage, or relax by the pool (additional activities are at your own expense).
-
3
Today’s ride in Bohol’s interior involves gradual climbs, offering stunning scenery worth the effort. We stop at a gorge viewpoint, where you can try a zip line or cable car (extra cost). Cycling through the Bilar Man-Made Forest, we reach the famous Chocolate Hills, known for their unique landscape. After the ride, we drive to a hilltop for lunch and panoramic views, staying overnight at a nearby guesthouse in Carmen.
-

Today, we ride from Sierra Bullones highlands to coastal Anda. Starting with a 15 km flat road through farmlands, we then tackle a 17 km uphill to reach the summit at 790 m above sea level. A thrilling 20 km descent follows, passing villages with mountain views. After lunch in Jagna, we continue 30 km to Anda, enjoying coastal scenery along the way. Our ride ends at a cozy resort with views of the Pacific Ocean.
-
5
Today, you have the freedom to relax or discover Bohol’s coastline at your pace. Just a short distance away is the white sands of Anda beach, perfect for a day of relaxation. You can also choose to snorkel or scuba dive in the stunning coral reefs. Another option is a visit to Lamanoc Island, known for its ancient cave paintings and mangrove forests. These extra activities are at your own cost.

Today, we’re back on our bikes to explore Bohol. We start with a short jeepney ride, then cycle through daily life scenes in Visayas. After a few climbs, we have a picnic lunch by the Malinao Reservoir. A quick jeepney ride takes us to Bilar for more cycling through the countryside. We’ll have fun downhill rides to the coast and visit a beautiful waterfall for a refreshing dip. Finally, we’ll cycle to our accommodation on the rocky shores of Dimiao.
-
7
Get set for an exciting day of coastal cycling. Starting from Dimiao, we head west, passing charming fishing villages and coastal towns. After 30 km, we arrive at Baclayon, known for one of the oldest coral stone Catholic churches in the Philippines. The church’s aged yet well-maintained facade and interior offer a glimpse into the country’s Spanish colonial past and strong Christian heritage.
We’ll explore the church grounds before riding 5 km to a bridge linking the mainland to Panglao Island. The rest of the route takes us around Panglao, with varied terrain of rural, residential, and semi-urban areas. After 50 km, we stop for a tasty lunch overlooking the Bohol Sea. Continuing on, we reach Alona Beach, famous for its

Today, we switch islands and head to Siquijor. We take a short boat ride from the pier, enjoying the views. Once we arrive, a jeepney will take us to a hilltop restaurant for lunch with great views. Siquijor is known for its beautiful beaches, hills, and mystical culture. Despite its magical reputation, the locals are friendly. After lunch, we cycle 25 km to our beach resort where we’ll stay for three nights. Enjoy your time exploring Siquijor’s beauty and charm! Let me know if you need more assistance.

Embark on a thrilling island adventure today in Siquijor! Cycle the 86 km coastal road filled with ups, downs, and scenic views. Visit the ancient “Enchanted Balete Tree” with a natural foot spa. Discover the historic Lazi Convent before enjoying Salagdoong Beach’s turquoise waters. Dive in or relax and admire the surroundings! Have a local lunch before heading back to the resort, passing by ocean views and fish markets. Enjoy your Siquijor exploration!

Today, we explore Siquijor’s lush highlands by starting our journey at Mount Bandilaan National Park. A 45-minute jeepney ride takes us to the park’s peak, allowing us to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the rainforest canopy. We then embark on a thrilling 10 km downhill bike ride through the park’s southern slopes, stopping at Cambugahay Waterfalls for a potential refreshing dip. Afterward, we can have lunch at a local eatery. The afternoon offers flexibility – you can either cycle back to the resort along a 20 km route or return in the jeepney for some beach relaxation. There’s even a chance to engage in a traditional healing session, providing a glimpse into Siquijor’s mystical side, subject to the healer’s availability. Enjoy the exploration and cultural experiences Siquijor has to offer!

Today is a day of island hopping and exploration! We begin early, catching the first ferry from Siquijor pier to Negros island. After arriving in Dumaguete, we enjoy breakfast before boarding another ferry to Cebu’s southern tip, offering picturesque sea views and a glimpse into inter-island travel in the Philippines. Arriving in southern Cebu, we start a 70 km coastal bike ride northward, experiencing the rugged headlands and picturesque scenery along the way. Cycling through fishing villages and historic towns, we witness the beauty of coastal Cebu against the backdrop of the stunning blue ocean. Enjoy the journey as we make our way to the seaside town of Moalboal!

16 March 2024 ★★★★★We had an amazing time with Flipside! The easy riders were fantastic and made us feel so safe over the 3 days. 28 April 2024 ★★★★★Flip side honestly exceeded my expectations! Of course the views of Ha Giang were amazing but the staff were absolutely incredible and the easy riders were amazing! I felt so safe on the back of Truong’s bike the whole time. We had a small group of 6 people, 4 of us with easy riders and my boyfriend and our friend drove themselves. The drivers were steady and kept a good, safe pace for the guys riding (we saw and heard how fast the other tour’s went and how many injuries they have). Every night was super fun and our riders had such a laugh with us. Flip side take you off the beaten track and we saw some amazing views and swam in some gorgeous waterfalls that we hiked down too, it was so special. The main highlight was day 4, where we met Thiên and Truong’s families. We had the best day wild swimming with them, swimming inside a hidden cave, and drinking too much happy water while teaching everyone Scottish country dancing. Special thanks to Duc Anh, Thiên and especially Truong. Amazing people that made the four days so special!!! Flip side really feels like a family and social enterprise and really supports the staff & the villages in the mountains, it was amazing to see and hear about from a tour company! 10/10

16 April 2024 ★★★★★We just returned from a 14 day trip to Vietnam with FLIPSIDE. The trip was perfect, thanks to Mr. Kevin and his team, who took care of every detail of the organization and were attentive throughout, ensuring that our experience was excellent. They even provided us with tips on some great hotels in Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City. During our trip, we visited Hanoi, Halong Bay (two night by boat, highly recommended for a full experience), did the Ha Giang Loop for 4 days, explored Hoi An and went on a 3-day bike tour in the Mekong Delta. The guides spoke good English and took excellent care of us in each city: Tony in Hanoi and Halong Bay, Nghia in Ha Giang and Tom in the Mekong Delta, all of whom helped us enjoy the journey more. Vietnam is a wonderful country with delicious food and the people are charming. I absolutely recommend it. Many thanks to Mr. Kevin and Flipside Adventure Travel for their excellent work.

3 April 2024 ★★★★★The flipside Ha Giang loop tour was a absolutely incredible experience which left us both completely speechless until now! Diving into the heart of the loop and being given a real experience of the life in which the local people live here was truly amazing. The company puts real emphasis into helping local communities within the loop. You are able to make donations, if you wish, to local families in need and the experience visiting the family really does change your perspective on things. Furthermore, you are taken off the main tracks and see parts of the loop no one else does. However, you still see the incredible scenery and pass through the loops most popular tracks so don’t miss out in incredible views. The easy riders ensure you make plenty of stops for delicious coffee/drinks and have the chance to take plenty of photos and videos to capture the moment! Me & my girlfriend had Ǎn and Dukang (I hope I’ve spelt that correctly) as our easy riders and they were genuinely amazing people. You connect with them over the three/four days and make a real friendship with them! They’re fantastic drivers and go above & beyond to make sure you have a brilliant time. Food was delicious and we never felt hungry as there was so much! The homestays were great too, couples on our tour were given private rooms when possible (which was both nights for us). The flipside team do an amazing job and deserve the most recognition possible! I hope one day to return & do the loop again. It was truly amazing. Thank you to everyone at Flipside, with particular thanks to Ǎn & Dukang! Legends!!

10 April 2024 ★★★★★We just completed a 26 day tour of Vietnam: Hanoi, Ha Giang Loop Tour by motorbike, Halong Bay cruise, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh, Cu Chi tunnels, Mekong cycle tour. We arrived by boat in the Cambodian capital and from there, we went to Siem Reap to visit the temples of Angkor. Finally, we traveled to Bangkok, visiting the city's temples, floating markets and parks. We were met for all the transfers, including 4 internal flights, a boat transfer and the cruise. Everything was perfectly organized by Kevin. All tour guides were excellent and very attentive, and the drivers and vehicles were also great. Despite choosing budget hotels, they were good quality. We felt safe and secure throughout the trip. The only accommodation that felt a bit out of place was the one in Bangkok. Flipside Adventure Travel is an agency we highly recommend as they organize tailored tours with half board, diverse activities and at a reasonable price. This experience was particularly special as it was our first trip to Asia.

12 June 2024 ★★★★★Flipside Adventure Travel organized a fabulous 3-week trip for us to Vietnam and Cambodia. We visited Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh, traveled by boat on the Mekong River with a bike tour and explored Saigon, Hoi An, Halong Bay and the Ha Giang Loop. A choice was perfectly offered in different hotels and accommodations, allowing everyone to manage their desires and budget. Our travel consultant, Stephen was always ready to answer us on WhatsApp when we needed it. We were really taken care of! Also, when bad weather made us cancel our scuba diving, Stephen quickly found us another plan. The guides were nice and spoke English well; the drivers were good and we loved our trip. Highly recommend Flipside Adventure Travel!

18 January 2024 ★★★★★Our trip to Vietnam was fantastic, one of the best I've ever had. Flipside Adventure Travel was very well organized throughout. We were fortunate to have a wonderful guide, Tony, who was incredibly helpful, kind and patient. The group of fellow travelers were also great. They ranged in age from about 30 to 50 years old and were easy to get along with and friendly. We always made stops at clean restrooms, dined at wonderful restaurants, and stayed in excellent hotels. The itinerary struck a good balance between sightseeing, shopping, downtime, group activities, communal meals, and individual dining choices. I particularly enjoyed visiting Halong Bay, Ha Giang Loop, Saigon, Mekong Delta, Hoi An, trying Vietnamese cuisine, watching water puppetry and more. I would definitely travel with them again and highly recommend this company.
